Show I October 5, THE CITIZEN Hasten Degree CLEVELAND GRACE -Von Mendenhall, son of Mr. and Mrs. Millen Mendenhall of Thatcher, has completed the requirements for a M.S. degree in Food Science and Technology from Utah State University at Logan, Utah. The research for his thesis was a study of factors which affect the flavor of venison. Von is the recipient of an N.D.E.A. Fellowship, which is offered for students in a doctorate program. He is leaving this week with his family to attend Oregon State University for two years. Von is married to the former Joan Hubbard and the couple has three children, Ivan, Martin and Penny Rae. He has been employed by the Corporation in Soda Springs during the summer and has been making his home in Bench. ee ATTENTION Members of the Social Arts club had an edifying evening at the home of Mrs. David Beckstead Thursday. Special guest, Mrs. LeArta Hammond, gave an illustrated dress making lecture. Refreshments were served to 15 at the conclusion. Mrs. David Beckstead was hostess for the Whitney Ladies club at her home Monday evening. The guests arrived with their favorite recipe and samples of the same. As a result, eating and sociability made an enjoyable evening for the 15 who came. Mrs. David E. Davis entertained Golden Hour club members and Mrs. Carolyn Condie at the Westwood Social Center Monday afternoon. Bridge was the featured dl version following a dainty luncheon. Holbrook of Bountiful, Utah, recently announced the engagement and marriage of their foster daughter, Miss Hilda Flores, to Robert Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oris E. Jenkins of Preston. The couple exchanged marriage vows in the Logan temple on September 14 after which they were honored at a reception given by Utahs State Senator Holbrook and his wife in Bountiful. On September 15, friends and relatives attended an open house for the couple given by parents of the groom in the Preston Second ward. Miss Flores is a graduate of Weber State Beauty College and Is now working in Roy. Mr. Jenkins fulfilled an LDS mission in West Mexico and is a graduate of Weber States Electronic Trade Tech. The couple will make their home in Ogden where Mr. Jenkins is employed at Hill Air Force Base and both will continue their education at Weber State College. red roses.
