Luncheon was served to sixteen club members and Mrs. Lucretia AshHelen K5rby, Mrs. croft, Mr-jCarrie Kirby and Mrs. Afton Balls who were special guests. Farmers of the community have finished their beet thinning and are now busy hauling hay. Mrs. Shirley Clark has returned home from a short visit in Ogden. Daines attended the DUP encampment in Logan ThursFor Expert Radio Service The retail merchants committee of the Logan chamber of commerce is responsible for the transportation of the Intermountain Band for concerts at Ogden and Salt Lake City Sunday, June 30. The committee would appreciate help from any auto owners in Logan or the valley. Call the chamber of commerce. The State Highway commissioner will provide two state patrolmen as an escort for the caravan from Logan to Salt Lake City. Ths arrangement makes pleasant driving. It also makes a very pleasant outing, and any of the citizens are invited to join the caravan. The plan is to assemble in front of the Logan chamber of commerce next Sunday at 8:00 a. m. The caravan will leave just as soon as all the students are loaded. The concert at Ogden will be at Lorin Farr Park at 10:30 a. m. After the concert the Ogden chamber of commerce will provide a light lunch for the band students. The concert at Salt Lake City will be held at the Liberty Park at) 2 p. m. The Junior Girls under the supervision of Mrs. Leora Seamons enjoyed a weiner roast Thursday evening. A baseball benefit dance was held in the amusement hall Friday evening. Music wras furnished by the Hyde Park orchestra. A good crowd attended. Mr. and Mi's. George D. Seamons and family spent Friday visiting in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Birdean Balls of Randolph are visiting at the home if Mrs. Tomina Balls. A charming affair of the week was the canyon party sponsored by the Ladies Literary club at the city park in Logan canyon Saturday evening. The party was in honor of the husbands of the members. The Junior Ladies club and their parteners were special guests. A delicious chicken supper was served at one long table. Theron Ashcroft was toastmaster. Those responding with toasts were: Mrs. Sadie Hancey, Mrs. Susie Seamons, Mrs. Mae Lee and J. W. Hyde. Following supper games and singing were enjoyed around the bonfire. Dr. Heizer talked on the breeding progtum for the, Holstein, Breeders of the United States; and Mr. Mathieson gave a report cf the Western National Conference. Offcers from last year were for the coming again year. They are: George Knoll, Amalga, president; Ralph Robson, Plain City, vice president; Marvin Thain, Benson, secretary and treasurer; These three with Leon Gardned and William Nelson will serve as the Board of Directors for the association. Dr. Heizer and Mr. Mathieson will go from Logan to Idaho, where they will hold a series of meetingns. From Idaho they will go east. Smith-Hugh- Lake City. They had a very pleasant visit at the Falula Farm. John H. Weston and daughter, Phebe took a tour last week to Brigham in quest of a school for the coming term. Mrs. Bernice Sims of Salt Lake City is spending sometime on her homestead making some improvements. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mattson are rejoicing over the arrival of a dandy 9 pound son born at Garden City Saturday June 15. All concerned doing well. It was rumored also that a son had been bom to Mr. and Mrs. Lowell W. Kearl at Salt Lake City. However we havemt the dope at present. Miss Hazel Robinson of Salt Lake City spent a pleasant week here visiting her parents, Pres, and Mrs. George H. Robinson. She left Tuesday with her brother, Wilford for a brief visit in Ventura, California. Mr. and Mrs. Carl G. Stuart went to Woodruff, Utah Saturday to attend the Cox reunion and remained over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. Floyd Clark of Newton and Mrs. J. E. Jensen of Pocatello, Idaho spent Sunday here at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Heber C. Rcbinson. They were accompanied by Mrs. Mary Hyden of Smithfield, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Weston of Smithfield spent Sunday at the John H. home of Mr. and - M- Weston. Bishop O. P. Satterthwaite of Logan was a recent visitor here. Frank Lambom and daughters spent 4 days at Frontier, Wyo helping care for a sick relative. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Cheney returned Sunday from their California trip and report having an enjoyable time. Miss Sylvia Weston of Salt Lake City returned with them for a brief visit. Mr. and Mrs. F. W. The Garden City Boy Scouts presented a nice little minstrel show here Monday night which should have been better attended.
