Cache America Utah Dear Sir: An exchange of letters recently published In your paper between a Cache county farmer and the Cache County Agricultural Committee called attention to vital farm problems. Right ' or wrong this farmer Is to be commended for taking the trouble to learn about farm problems to the extent that he felt he 'would like t sy something publicly. Nicholas Murray Butler is credited with this statement: T classify the world into three classes: (1) the few who make things happen; (2) the many who watch things happen; and (3) the overwhelming majority who have no idea what happens. Farmers can all be in the first class by supporting their own orincluding the Farm ganizations, Bureau and the commodity organizations associated with It. There three fundamental, reasons why all farmers should Join these organizations and pay the fees necessary to sustain them. (1) It is good business. It Is generally conceded that present reduced interest rates on farm loans amounting to approximately $100 on each $5000 Federal Farm Loan were secured through organized agriculture. The present AAA developed program was largely and its enactment into law was secured primarily through the American Farm Bureau Federation. Freight rates in this western re- gion would undoubtedly be higher had there been no one to represent the farmers interests. These with other benefits too numerous to mention here have been obtained through farm organizations. for (2) We ought to belong patriotic reasons.
