L. Wanlass Speaker at Lions Luncheon Today Those attending the Lions club luncheon today were highly entertained by a Saxophone solo rendered by Harold L. Fomoff, and a talk by Dr. W. L. Wanlass who has returned to his duties at the USAC after a leave of absence during which time he has been life of studying the economic the country. He has traveled la all of the states of the union and visited Canada and Mexico. He sees by comparing history as it is being made today with the history of the past that there are many changes and that one thing that seems to hold us back somewhat is the fact that we try to interpret the needs of today with the standards set by our forefathers. We speak with pride and honor the memories of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln but who would care to be surrounded with the environment and conveniences that they were surrounded with? It is the outgrowing of those old ideals and manners that make for democracy.
