George Nelson and Leo Papiano put up a great show at Preston Thursday nght to top an athletic card which thrilled a large audience of lovers of wrestling and boxing. The bout nearly ended in a brawl but a corp of alert officers were on hand and soon quailed the riot. It all came about when Papiano began his dirty ring tactics. He was cautioned a plenty by Referee Cronquist and when the going got so rough that the wiley Greek would not permit Nelson to wrestle in the ring. Nelson was awarded the bout. The ring was soon filled with fans who wanted to get revenge on Papiano. It looks as if the two men will have to settle their difficulties with the gloves. A STUDY of the past reTeals that corn yields have a pronounced tendency to return to hormal or better following seasons of abnormally dry weather. As Indicated by the shaded columns in the above graph, the production per acre after the three severe drought years of 1894, 1901, and 1930 rose from a low average of about 19.6 bnshela to approximately the normal United States annual average of about 26 bushels per acre. The yield of both barley and oats also was higher In two out of the three seasong following years of nnnsual drought The reasonable expectation In 1935, therefore, le normal or near normal corn yields. This fact Uas an Important bearing on corn planting Intentions for the coming spring. Material adjustments In cattle and hog cambers since a year ago have lowered corn requirements to such an extent that even the average acreage of recent years would produce, at normal yields, a burdensome . surplus of com. Under the 1935 production adjustment contract, being offered by the Agricultural Adjustment Adminisfarmers will have tration, corn-hoan opportunity to control com acreage In keeping with these reduced requirements and the expectation of normal yield per acre. ft fS' " ..
