Wallace Funk, prominent Trenton farmer, who is a member of the county road committee that is endeavoring to work out a road program to submit to the state legislature, was a business visitor in the county seat today. Mr. Funk is keenly interested in the program outlined by the West Cache farmers for having the highway accepted as a state secondary highway. There are a great many arguments why this road should be adopted by the state and given state aid. One of the chief reasons is because of the service this road gives to the farmers of the west side of the valley. It would connect up with the highway on the west side of the valley in Idaho and would serve to permit people from that section coming to the valley metropolis to travel on a good road. Amalga, Trenton and Cornish farmers are really entitled to consideration In this matter. There are over 30,000 tons of .beets hauled over this road annually. Five school buses travel this highway;) six milk trucks travel over the road daily. It is a natural outlet for the citizens of the west Cache section to Smithfield and Logan. Mr. Funk has statistics showing that the section effected, is highly productive of grain; hay, beets, peas. The road serves the citizens who are heavy taxpayers. They should be given due consideration. The road committee is expected to meet In Logan Wednesday evening and go over the road program of the county.
