The circular letter explaining the plan with an appeal for fund will be mailed to all head of firms, professional men, and employers of labor immediately. There it to be no ctercion or undue influence used to get wage earners to contribute 2 per cent of their wage, or what they feel they can afford for December, January, February, and March, the tame a last year. All managers and heads of firms are, of course, to be included in the plan with their employees. The reports from the firms are to be made by November 25. A financial statement for the past fiscal year ending November 1, 1931, of the Logan Employment council will be mailed to each firm with the suggestion that this statement be read to the employees so that they may see how their money has been expended for the past year. The Finance committee decided that all payments for labor this winter should be made in the form of scrip. This scrip will be in dollar denominations and may be used to purchase merchandise, goods, or services at any local business house. This scrip will be redeemed on the first and the fifteenth of each month by the Logan Employment council. It is believed that by using the scrip, it will insure the proper expenditure of all the money in Logan among the business houses. The standard wage of $2.00 per day for single men and $4.00 per day for a man and team was adopted, The council will recommend that this wage schedule be adopted by Logan city for the winter months. A special committee will be appointed to work with the Community Storehouse committee so there will be no duplication of effort The bishops of the wards of Logan will act as the Survey committee and supply the list of heads of families who are out of work, need work, and will work. The new addition for the Senior High School gymnasium did not materialize, so the two winter projects will be the dugway extending north of the U.S.A.C. stadium, and the south dugway on College hill. Work of Red Cross Recommended By Senators Smoot and King Praise for the work of the American Red Cross is contained in an open letter to the people of Utah from Senator Reed Smoot, released here recently by M. O. Hardy, chairman of the Red Cross Roll Call. Senator Smoot's statement in full follows: To the People of Utah. Its charter places on the Red Cross the responsibility of alleviating distress when disaster strikes and bringing its sufferers back to a basis; of assistmen and their families, ing the service and and in the case of disabled men, helping them to prosecute their claims for compensation and hospitalization and render other assistance that is needed.
