Jim Holtkamp, and Joe Andrus, legislative forum; and Terri Fisher, Sondra Young, and Christeena Richards, radio Library films speaking. Finals in the competition will be held Saturday. Mr. Kenneth is director of the forensic team. Several students from BY qualified for the State Interpretive Meet, by winning in the Region Interpretive Meet which was held March 28 at Lehi High School. Students qualifying for the State Meet include Terri Fisher and Sylvia Spears, dramatic reading; Jolene Barlow', humorous reading: Christeena Richards, and Dave Rich, retold stories. He believes that girls' marching is just as important as any boys physical education activity. He chooses the schools which participate. BY High has been chosen to participate in this meet two times previously. In 1960 they were awarded first place, and in 1961 they took second. Other schools from Utah which participated in this year's meet include Juab, Brigham City, Olympus, and Bear River, which took second place. Each girl who went to the tournament paid $12.50 for transportation, room, and board. Band finally gets new uniforms ct Dear Editor: Gratitude personified was the reaction to the glad tidings of our extended meal period. This came about as the end result of a brilliant example of student government and administration cooperation. Indeed, we may say we owe a great debt of to our vigorous student leaders and benevolent administration. The addition was a boon to the great previous lunch hour. This will enable more students living near our campus to commute home for a quick bite. This development may even pave the way for broadened noon-tim- e activity. The length of this letter is directly proportional to the time afforded by our extended lunch five-minu- te te hour. The filmstrips will be available in the library for use by the students through the use of the two filmstrip projectors there. The filmstrips cover the areas of geography, science, social studies, history, language, and fine arts. The total number ol filmstrips is about 319, Also in the library are some micro-filreels that have issues of U.S. News and World Report, from January 1966: American Heratige, from the summer of 1954 to October 1965; Time, January 1965; Readers Digest, January 1962 to December 1965; Scientific American, January 1964 to December 1966. Miss Berry also said that the 1966 issues of most of these above have been ordered for the microfilm reader in the library. m 1962-Jun- e 1962-Decemb- er Essay contest winner named Lee Thomson, eigth grader, was the recent winner of the Freedom Essay Contest held at BY Junior High. For winning this contest. Lee will receive a $25 savings bond. in the contest were Robert Bowen, Mary Robinson, Runners-u- p Cindy Slover, Christine Layton, and Rebecca Clark. Based on the great documents of the United States, this contest for eigth graders only, is sponsored nationally by the Sertoma Club. Students who enter the contest may choose to write on any document they want, although the preferred document is the Declaration of Independence. The winner of last year's contest was Janine Lambert.
