It was the first game of league play for both teams with Lehi coming out on top . Once in the game the Cats were in the lead for a brief time in the third quarter. It was Joe Allen, Dave Kimball and Gordon Whatcott who sparked the short winning attempt. The Wildcats really the Pioneers from the field as they made 14 goals to 13 for Lehi, and would have won had they been able to make a considerable larger amount of free pitches. Cats Smothered by Drop Precious Lincoln d Kat By Joe Allen School spirit whats that? This is what a lot o'f the students as well as the team members were wondering Friday night at the "Pee Gee game. Of course the Wildcats lost the game by a large margin, and this sets the Cats at the bottom of the league with an record. But after all P.G. has lost all these years and still have spirit. It seems as though after the first game the Wildcats lost that everyone thought the team was no good, and a team member would feel better if he wasnt on the team. As it seems, everyone is looking down at them. Why one school lost 64 straight league games and the school spirit never left them for a minute. Overheard at the game Friday .night was the remark What am 1 cheering for, were 14 points behind. Has B.Y. highs school spirit really gone down the drain as Jimmy Lawrence, KOVO broadcaster says? Lets prove it at the next game, that it hasnt. Remember its tonight at Lehi. 0-- 4 -- |
