Coach Burr says that to qualify a team, a school must have five runners; and he adds, that he would like to have seven. Crosscountry is a relatively new sport in Utah high schools (mostly Salt Lake and Weber County schools), but it is quite popular in Southern California and other parts of the nation. STAN AND STEVE Bergeson, transfers from East High School in Salt Lake City, have already begun working out bn the BYU fields for the team. Both of the Bergie Boys" have excellent reputations in distance running, each having two years experience for the Leopards.
