Certainly we all agree that the faculty should have the power to restrict those activities which they feel are not to the benefit of the students. However, when they do this with such enthusiasm it is only right that they show the same enthusiasm in supporting those activities which will further the school. The students can not be expected to enter into activities and spend their time and energy in making them successful, when the teachers show no interest in supporting these themselves. At most schools the entire faculty supports all the student activities, and when this is the case the students feel very little antagonism when it becomes necessary for the teachers to restrict some activity. At least in this situation the teachers have shown interest in helping as well as hindering. So far this year, very little active support has been given to the students by th faculty. True, they turned out to the school skating party and had an enjoyable time. extra-curricul- ar Utah Lake. Most of the school turned out, as the three buses made their way to the lake. Hockey, crack the whip, and games of tag were played by some of the more experienced skaters, while the faculty stood on the side line, looking at the ice. Athletics of the school who werent allowed to skate, stood on the banks and threw snow balls at the skaters. A fire for frozen toes, .md lunches for hungry students made the day as successful as any party ever held at the high school. .... Sports Quiz 1.
