Show Jan. 29, 1960 Yld Cat Page 4 CHALK THE KAR TALK CORNER with Jerry by Steve Worsley What is all this about It seems that here in Utah the term is used very loosely. Here anyone who has a lowered or a degoed car with loud pipes and a flashy is labeled hot rodder. This is not true, for those cars that are lowered and have loud pipes are pulling the name of good down. It seems that these race up and down city streets, scaring man, woman and child to death. This is not true with real they speed alright, but on Things seem to be looking up. The wrestling team has been doing well, especially in their appearance against South Summit. Grapplers Bill Mitchell, Charles Burgess, Paul Ripple, have been looking good so far in their matches. The basketball team has won four of their last six games, and is still a contender for Region Seven title. All in all, things look pretty good. If the boys keep up the hustle, things should look even better In my opinion, the student body is to be complemented on their attendance and spirit at the last two home games. Win or lose, lets keep up the spirit and the attendance, at both home and away games. hot-rodders?- hot-roddi- so-call- ed hot-rodde- hot-rodd- er rs non-member- y . . . s. runs, etc. There are several car clubs in Utah county, however none of them are any good. I have heard many say all loud pipes is to make people clog their ears when you go down the street, now dont get me wrong Im not trying to pull down duel pipes, just loud and illegal mufflers. What is the sence of loud pipes when they dont make your car go any faster or improve your gas mileage and as for driving recklessly on city streets, well is just isn't heard of. Here we are in athletes heaven and there is more confusion and turmoil than in seminary class. It is quite surprising about the league this year because there are four teams so evenly matched that it is a toss up to see who will go to state. And may I add, I think we can go all the way. The team is becoming more experienced with every game and it is starting to meet the standards of play which we desire. The enthusiasm of the team is very high and they are all out to win. With one loss, we are out to win the rest of the games and you can be sure the team will be fighting down to the last minute. We wish to thank the student body for their support at the games and their enthusiasm towards the team. Your support for the American Fork game was the best its been for a long time. Let s keep the spirit up and back the team. P.S. At our home games, come as out and see the n a there will be a basketball game. side-attractio- Sorry Mart Athlete of the Month This month's award for B.Y.
