Show A STRANGER IMPRESSED A stranger a new yorker by the way I 1 I 1 stood d on oil the corner by the first national at ional bank yesterday morning watching the boys ind and girls pass on their way to school lie he was struck with the high class of young man and womanhood which he saw so when the lie writer happened along the stranger expressed himself in surprised sur prized and glowing terras terms of tho the impressions which the sight had made upon him ile he kept on calling attention to this young lady and that to that young man mail ind and the other who were passing on their way to the high school remarking about their neat and comfortable dress ind and the honest clean pure expression on their faces ile he marveled so ile he said for lie he had never seen the likes ot of it before in all his life and lie he is a 1 gentleman who travels from one end of this great country to the other all the time in convers conversing converson ln g with the gentleman lie he allied whether or not the community made made any provisions for Us its healthy crop crol of young people in the way of making it possible to establish here getting them homes and providing employment so that they do not need to go elseA elsewhere here to earn a livelihood and in giving said that he felt that the young to his views on that subject be said that he felt that the young people ae of lily any community are just as much a problem which affects the entire commonwealth commonwealth as any commercial enterprise within its boarders boarde and wondered why the future of the young people is not considered by a comman efty as a community in the same light as the other resources of the community are the reasoning of the stranger made an ail impression on us as well as opened our eyes to tile the situation confronting the older ones of 0 this particular community true our of education ti makes it possible for every boy and girl to equip him anil and herself for the battle ot of life but when the educational period has passel passed the young folks are guined loose to make their own onn mark in tile the world many succeed and a great many fall by the wayside the thought occurred are we not dot all guilty too much of thinking ot of and striving for immediate wants and the things which concern just we ourselves giving very little consideration to problems that the coming generation will have to battle with leaving it up to them to solve as we have had to solve our own difficulties experience per peri lence ence is a wise icse and good teacher and those who can survive the experience certainly get an education that will never leave them but what of the many who become discouraged drop out slink away arway and are arc lost are they not worth saving and are they not capable ot of doing their share la in this world it if aided a little as they go along in the school of preparation the real wealth ot of any community country or nation la Is its citizenship and yet for the most part the citizenship Is left to shift for itself as ag every fellow fights ills hia way through life some unfortunate under foot perhaps as lie he battles along wo are arc too inconsiderate of each other too unsympathetic too unwilling to be our om brothers keeper the thought 0 ot the stranger inspire ed cd by tile the host of clean boys and girls on their way to school is worthy of consideration |
