The Timps made the trip to Brigham City last month and pasted a defeat on the local club. This time the Peaches will be after revenge. With Roy Coxey now with the San Jose club of the Boston Red Sox, the Peaches chucker will have to be named Yates or Oliver. Oliver was out last so Evans will probably send Jay Yates out to do the work. Last Friday night the Peaches showed the fans some real base-baiin fact the sparse crowd than witnessed more baseball had been seen all year long. The locals pulled off a perfect squeeze play, a double steal, hit and run, and to top It all, a cutoff play going from Kramer to Call to cut off the run at the plate worked with plenty to spare. The game was a walk-awaafter the first few innings. Oliver gave up 9 hits in the first two innings and then found his stride to limit the Pinney stickers to four blows for the rest of the game. Two of these four hits came in the last inning. Everyone was beating the ball regularly, but Kramer was the top man, combing his brother for a triple, two doubles and a brace of singles in six trys. l, y Prospects Look Good, But Chances Carry A Big "If" Bees Season Opens September 10 Here The BRIGHAM observance TS Tre weight situation doesnt have the Bees worried because they figure to be tackled by opponents they have to be caught; The key to the situation lies in the line. If the boys work out to their blocking assignment clear the way, the Bees could have the team to go this sea son. Other, Region teams fall in the if class also. Weber is looking forward to having the class of the Region. South Cache should have a strong aggregation and the dark horse will be Cliff Pooles Logan Grizzlies. They have a large enrollment from which to choose, and Cliff Poole is wise in the w'ays o f football so they could cause plenty of trouble. of COMMITTEE CITY-MERCHAN- Box Elder Bees have lc nine days, eight of them practice, in order to sharpen up for the Jordan Beetdiggers. last year's state champs. MORRISON DISTRICT JUDGE SEPTEMBER 7th AND 2nd NOVEMBER i quarterback. in n, r Against Jordan The Box Elder high school gridders are finishing their first week of practice and the Bees will have speed to bum on this years edition. A trio, Spindler, Hansen and Ferguson, were members of the Box Eider relay team that won the Region crown last spring. The only addition to the relay team that isnt on the Bee squad this year is Dan Davis. The missing link in the relay team will be more than amply filled with May, who makes up for the loss of Davis with speed of his own. Coach Ferguson has plenty up his sleeve in the way of tricks in order to get the most out of the speedy backs. The style of play will be filled with deception that will explode into a wide open attack. The line will be the lightest at Box Elder for several years and to make up for this weight difference, the Bees will have to hit the scoring column more often, which they should be more than capable of doing. The line hopefuls are: Nielsen and Britenbeker at center, Hatch, Drewes, Josephson and Poison at tackles, Whitaker, Victor, Nakamura, Lowe and Jerry Morris guards, and Garfield, and Harris, Gardner Young, ends. These lads will average close to 155 pounds. The light line will make up for its weight! with speed in order to stay out in front of the backs. Providing the same holds true for this season, as last, the lighter teams ended up at the top of the team standings. The backfield has Captain Lynn Spindler working at the tail back slot, Warren Ferguson at quarter calling signals from the fullback position and Orlin May and Brad Hansen, working the other two posts. Another combination of backs is Bert Hunsaker and Lee Wight , at halfbacks, Russell Rasmussen at full and Vard Johnson at LEWIS E.
