Rubber Reserve company lost 13,850 tons of crude rubber in the fire which damaged the plant of the Firestone Rubber and Latex Products Co., at Fall River, Mass., Saturday night and Sunday, Je.sse Jones, federal loan administrator, announced today. He said that the reserve company had a total of 17,830 tons of crude rubber stored in the plant, 2,000 tons of which weie not damaged. The company, Jones said, had on hand last Saturday 135,214 tons of rubber. Another 135,323 tons was afloat and en 4 toute to this country and additional tons were awaiting shipment. Officials said they had no exact figures on value of the lost rubber but estimated that it would be between $6,500,000 and $7,000,000.
