Student activities at the High School this season promise to give a variety end be of an intensity never before introduced in the big county school. The enrollment wlh undoubtedly far exceed that of any previous year and the big crowd is usually the most active. The student body organization this year consists of Rees Merrell, presi-dent- ; Mabel Johnson, Victor Lee, secretary and treasurer and Alan Mann cheer master. The seasons program contemplates a number of social functions and a Lyceum course extraordinary. Some of the most celebrated musical organizations that have toured the country in recent years will be brought to the High School this year which means that the students and the patrons of the big school will be offered some musical and intellectual feasts. The school spirit is everywhere present and the multitudes of boys and girls, young men and young women who make their way to and from the various schools each morning and evening, attest the fact that this community is growing. And what is true of this community is true of every other community in the school district. thirty years and in the history of the time ggcond entered the death of iIy the cagel on Wed-laL. The GIDNEY BARN DESTROYED BY FIRE. doctors give four or five big reasons hurt d I 1 for their prediction.-First, they declare that people are better educated in regard to the disease, both in personal and public preventive measures. Second, when they find they have symptoms of the disease, they are going to seek immediate medical care. Third, they know by now that there are no specific drugs or medicines which they might be tempted to pour ruthlessly into their systems to work cures, and therefore they will not expect the doctors to pour such drugs Into them. Then, too, the doctors said the public knows that a general building up of their systems is the best possible preventive and emphasizing this the doctors add that citizens must keep . Shortly after one oclock Wednesday morning, fire broke out In the barn belonging to Mrs. George Gldney and standing flush with the sidewalk property line on hor premises between Second and Third West streets. The alarm was turned In quickly but being a frame structure, the fire burned fiercely and all but had the building consumed before the department had time to arrive. A blaze started in the barn Sunday night but was extinguished and the fire Wednesday morning points strongly to incendiarism. The building carried some insurance.
