It Is about the largest list in the history of the county and bears mute testimony to the fact that farmers and fruit growers cannot get hold of money when they cannot dispose of their The fruit crop this year products. was large but the market was simply shot to pieces and so the growers got nothing for their labor. The heavy frost in June which took so much grain also shows in the delinquent tax list, for many farmers had borowed money on the strength of the crops they expected to harvest and when the frost took their grain they were hopelessly ruined so far as this seasons profits were concerned. In, the past, the County Treasurer has not been holding strictly to the law in making sales of delinquent property but has kept his books open as long as February the next year in some instances in order to accommodate the people. This year, however, the Treasurer advises that hs will have to begin the sales on the thisd Monday in December which comes on the 21st of the present month, and he will clear up as much of the business, if not all of it, before turning over his office to his successor. be it ' Returns from Precincts No. 3 and Last Friday morning Mrs. Annie Three very important meetings in No. 5 of the school election held yes- Omaha, Neb., the week of December Mary Olsen of the First ward passed on to a well earned rest, for the good terday, have come in and they indi- 7th to 12th. into effecL cate that are but a Dec. on little Nebraska people lady had liver eighty three year In the wide scope 8, taking Beginning (own a more interest in these matters. tliis this in OmaFarmers used in will probation.
