After a conference with Camp Director Bill Breiuel, it was decided to have the promising hurler peiform for Fresno before moving farther up the ase-baline, however this is not definite as yet. Charles Whitaker was the starting moundsman for the Bees. Charles didnt let a Spartan reach first base until the fourth inning when Bradshaw got on with an error. He only gave up three hits and the one run while putting seven batsmen on his strikeout list. He was replaced by Max (Fireball) Murphy in the seventh inning. Max gave up no hits and no runs. The bats were again booming, and the Bees collected eleven safeties. DeVon Britenbeker and Lee Wight sparked the Bee offense. Each got two timely hits. They should have had 30 hits if luck had been on their side. Ronney Dean Jiarris boomed one out that hit the fence and only getting a double out of it. The Spartan outfielders were playing an extremely deep game in all three fields, and when Basil Williams, Charles or Vard Johnson Whitaker, hooked up with a home-ruhit, the Spartans just made easy catches of them. But in the seventh inning, Harris led off and at the expense of Spartan pitcher Lindley, the Bees batted around and scored five runs that put the game in the bag. The infield was on their toes, and in the seventh inning a Low to Johnson to Williams provided a double kill. Two errors were all the Bees would give the Spartans. They played a heads-ugame through the nine inning contest, and kept the Spartan runners from letting only three men reach third base and one on second.
