Mrs. Sullivan of the Camp Mission t school has received a letter from Dr. MAfee, superintendent of school work connected with the Buar.d of Heme Missions'1 which she handed .us to read. Iu it are tyro clauses which with her permission we publish- At the regular meeting of the Rqatd April 9, 1903, the following action was taken: Whereas the board having heard through Dr. S. . Wishgrd, Synodical .missionary for the Synod ol XJtab, .that many of the mission teachers and .friends of our work within the bounds ,Qf tbe Synod of Utah, believe that the tuition dee now charged, excluded .many Children from our schools which jivpuid otherwise attend, therefore, Resolved That all mission schools , within the bounds of the Synod of Utah save the Coilegeate Institute, Salt Lake, New Jersey Academy, Logan, Hungerford Academy, Spring-vlll- e, Wasatch Academy, Mt. Pleasant, be and hereby are made free schools from and after Sept. 1st 1903. Camp Mission school was opened in I Sept. 1878, by Rev. S. L. Gillespie in the home on Main street now occuTeachers nome. It pied m the was known as the Presbyterian Mission School of Box Elder, that being the name of tbe present city of Brig-bar- n at that time. The next year he was assisted by bis sister, Miss E. F. Gillispie, who resigned the following year and died soon after at her home .in Ohio. Tbe teachers who have taught in this school one or two years are: Miss Mary E. Christie, Miss May n. Day-toMrs. Miss Mattie E. Byers, Adams and her sister Miss Noyei,Mrs. Emma Bayiey and her daugnter Miss Alice Bayiey, Miss Sessions, Miss Kate Williamson. Miss Anna Clarke, Miss Gates, Miss Green, Miss Frances Gillespie, Miss Martha Gillespie, Mrs. C. E. Sullivan, Miss Carrie Sullivan, The last now Mrs. J. J. Boyington. two ladies entered upon their duties in 1894. For four or five years their i enrollment was from 107 to 125 and now since tuition has been abolished it will no doubt be as well attended as It was in former years. The present term, which closes the latter part of May, will conclude the labors of Mrs. Sullivan and her daughter Mra Boyington as teachers.
