Every remedy known to medical science except surgical operation, failed to dislodge the poisonous material which gathered in the childs stomach until it had inflamed the entire digestive tract. After relief had been secured the little girl could not retain nourishment on her stomach and she lay for a week without having had a morsel of food. On Monday her condition seemed to be improved and food was administered. She suffered fearfully during that night but on Tuesday afternoon appeared better again. During the night a change came and death as looked for momentarily up until Wednesdav afternoon when she brightened up for a short period but the weakened little body was unable to gather sufficient strength to begin again and the baby life slowly ebbed until Thursday forenoon when the end came. Ruth was the only daughter in the family and very naturally was greatly beloved. She was a most patient little sufferer and nothing was left undone to prolong her life.
