Show SAD DEATH OF EDWIN GILBERT continued bad health preys upon the mind of corinne farmer the people ot of this community were shocked ind and pained this morning when the news of the tragic death of edwin gilbert who resides on a farm southeast of corinne was as announced mr gilbert came to his death by his own hand following a long spell ot of despondency caused by prolonged III health mr gilbert arose early as usual and while the family was wag eating breakfast he went out to the south of 0 the house and placing the buzzel ot of a single barrel 12 gauge shot gun to his mouth pulled the trigger the force of the exploding shell tore open an awful wound and he died instantly the family rushed to his aid but he was beyond mortal help his brother martin gilbert who resides on an pd joining farin faran was informed of the tragedy and he came to brigham and notified the officers and engaged the servie services cs of an undertaker later the body was brought to the undertaking parlors of jesse W hoopes and prepared tor for burial mr gilbert was born may 3 1875 on a farm near corinne Corl in the vicinity of where he lived he was a son of the late edwin and rosetta davis glibert gilbert ile he received his education at the corinne city district schools and grew to young manhood in this city ile he married miss anna hansen of brigham city twenty nine years ago last november mr gilbert was second counselor to bishop abraham evans an honest law abiding hardworking hard working man he has lived an exemplary life providing well tor for his family meeting his obligations and was aras highly respected by all who knew him A short time ago his son norman returned from the eastern states mission field on account of ill health two weeks ago another son stanley gilbert was viciously attacked by a mad bull and was badly injured barely esta escaping plug with hla his life with his failing health and rundown run down constitution mr gilbert must have become very despondent and was likely mentally deranged when he be committed the rash act surviving are his wife mrs anna gilbert one daughter mrs walter cheal and two sons norman and stanley gilbert all of corinne also two brothers martin gilbert of corinne and frank gilbert of ogden and one sister mrs ada murphy of corinne funeral services will be ba held monday Ton day at 2 at the gilbert home under the direction of dishop bishop abraham evans interment will be in the brig ham city cemetery |
