Show OBITUARY the funeral services over the remains of thomas jefferson woodland woodland ot marsh center idaho were held in the arcio high school building sunday october bishop james shumway Shu ot of the marsh center ward presided the house was wag appropriately decorated and was filled to its capacity with sympathizing relatives and friends prayers were offered by aronzo alonzo gunter and lebo parris musical numbers were rendered by the ward choir one quartette and two solos were also furnished the speakers were bishop nathan coffin robert cole prof IV henderson of the B D Y college of logan D P woodland ot of malad and myron J richards ot of the Port neat stake pres all gave interesting accounts of their acquaintance with the deceased and ot of ills his long services as a pioneer both in church capacity as well as the growth and development ot of the civil affairs of 0 marsh valley T J woodland Wooman ct was born may 19 1850 in iowa lie he was the son of thomas S woodland and margaret whitaker he was carried in his mother s arms across the plains the trip was commenced when thomas was three weeks old he settled with ills his parents at willard utah in the early fifties where lie he received what meager education was available at that time in 1875 he moved into the marsh valley where he be has hag since resided taking part in all the varied experiences in the growth and development ot of that thai valley he accumulated a large tract of 0 land and he be always has been a great benefactor in assisting tho the people of that valley who came there under trying circumstances if he W was never married but maintained mai nt allied his home and no one was ever turned aay front from his door hungry his remains we were re taken to willard utah where w here funeral lar vIces were i held at one monday |
