Show UBE STEED shortly after I 1 friday ing the angel of death 3 swiftly upon the hom homs ot of mr and mrs airs clyde steed and called the husband and father there was absi abs cutely ack waring of that which followed except that mr steed complained somewhat when lie retired for the night at feeling a little under th the weather he had been at af his regular shift in the city power plant earlier in in the day and did gome some che caf penter work at the home ot of his big parents in the evening soon after midnight the baby awoke and began to cry which awakened both mr and ana mrs steed and he asked his wife what what was wrong and was told that maybe the little one wanted a drink mrs steed went to get the water au aai I immediately her husband wail was seized with sharp pains in his chest and in his twisting about slipped oai off the bed Al alarmed armea mrs steed ran across the street and summoned mr air N 0 sm onsen who ditc responded quickly a binl 14 then the doctor was summoned arriving in fit record time but mr air steed was dead it was a clear case ol of heart hear failure and mr steed represented the 3rd ard generation of his family in n I 1 which death came from that source henry le clyde steed was born in farmington thirty years ago last feu auary when but a lad his parents moved to tills this eala it and he sew to 0 o young manhood I 1 tre pre he onga engaged ed u agriculture for a number of years after his marriage and owned i splendid farm some miles southwest of corinne corenne Corl A few years ago he disposed of his farm and removed to ellis city lie he was appointed one one of the station men ut ot tile the municipal light plant some months ago andrad and had never been forced ta to miss a days work on account ot of illness he was of robust build and had all the app appearances earan of a person who could withstand almost any kind ot of trouble or dise disease aset IDS wife icks acksen en dau daughter gb ter of city councilman and mrs airs J C three children his mother mrs janie steed and his sister mrs airs lysle S survive him very impressive funeral services were held sunday afternoon beginning at 4 oI ock in the first ward chapel which was inadequate in seating all those who came to show allow their sympathy the building was more than packed to its capacity beaucl ful floral tributes graced the rostrum and covered the casket and tyl words were spoken by those who made remarks bishop geo W willi edns ins presided and was iras the first break aspea er 1 ahe I he others were N C simonsen don walker arthur stayner Sl ayner john 1 peters and pros pres W C horsley their words were comforting and were accompanied compa compan nied led by the sweet and divine influence ot of the spirit ot of god the choir rendered a number of 0 beautiful selections and special musical numbers were rendered by the jensen brothers IV R dredge and E IV lee resolutions of respect were presented by city recorder P R wight and the prayers were offered by ja cob jensen and N L haneen whereat reaB 1 in the wisdom of an all wise providence our friend and fellow servant leclede steed has been called from this sphere ot of action in the midst 0 of lifes activities and whereas he was a faithful servant of the public and whereas he was a man of good hao had its of unquestioned integrity and a most lovable disposition and whereas Where in his passing the city has lost a fait faithful ful servant and the community an honored citizen and whereas we feet feel his loss keenly and deeply deplore his taking aa away y at tills this time be it therefore resolved that we the mayor and city council of brigham city atall do sincerely sympathize with the bereaved family to whom he was bound in the ties of kenderest ten derest at af lection fec tion we bear record of his faithful service as a public servant and the unselfishness with which he gave his time and energy to the th e safeguard safe guard ing 1139 of the I 1 interest our sympathy also extends to the family of our brother councilman J C frederickson who Is the father bauier of mrs steed may the spirit of the lord bo be jn in their homes and comfort them ja their bereavement and in time hel heal their wounds sri so tar far as it may be pos bible be it further resolved that we spread a copy of these resolutions on the city records mail a copy to the bereaved family and to the alie family of J C and have them published in tile the local papers respectfully submitted J F erdmann Er Amann mayor CARL ISAACSON ROLAND A MADSEN JOS F HANSEN WILLIAM JENSEN councilmen councilman P RUSSELL WIGHT recorder |
