Show MINUTES OF CITY COUNCIL the city council met in special session tuesday evening at 7 those present mayor knudson councilmen bott bolt J jensen AL M jensen joseph wight and N 3 valentine moved by jensen and seconded by bott bolt that report ot of state sanitary engineer A S bedell under date ot of mar afar 12 1924 on chemical and bacteriological analysis bo be spread on minutes the vote on the question was as follows wight valentine and AL jensen no bott bolt and J jensei yes relative to recent report ot of state sanitary engineer A S bedell councilmen bott presented the following personal statement prior to and at the time ot of the council meeting held monday evening march I 1 had no knowledge ot of the report filed with brigham city by state sanitary engineer AS bedell under date ot of march 12 1924 covering maple and hailing springs after reading this report I 1 am convinced it is my duty to vote no to the motion made by councilman wight relative to going to maple springs at once for brigham cites culinary water supply frankly I 1 believe this ad administration mi n 1 strat 1 on is obligated to the citizens of 0 brigham city to make further investigations before final and definite action should be taken in this matter I 1 respectfully request that this statement of my position on this proposition be spread on the minutes ot of this council mr C 0 roskelley as city engineer was directed to proceed with the surveying of maple springs culinary water line from maple springs to a point in box elder canyon where the cast iron pipe connects with the cement tile line moved and seconded that mr air roskelley also be directed to proceed with plans for raising upper part of 0 lower spring to such a level as to make it possible to deliver water into the upper maple springs ditch car av alid councilmen valentine wight andy e M jensen voting yes J jensen and bott no city manager recommended that city purchase 2600 feet ot of De lavand cast iron pipe from C H jones co salt lake city with the understanding that brigham city be given power to refuse any pipe that does not come up to specifications covering this kind of pipe moved and seconded and carried that recommendation be accepted councilman J jensen and bott voting negative and valentine wight and INI jensen affirmative city manager presented minutes of town board of 0 mantua in special session with city council of brigham city on march 18 1324 1924 it was thereupon moved by valentine and seconded by M jensen and carried that minutes minnies ot of said session be spread upon minutes of city council said minutes being as follows the town board of mantua met with the city council of brigham city in special session on march 18 1924 at it was moved by A A larsen an seconded by C al jensen that brigham city be given slon lon to lay pipe line for their culinary water said line to run just above the canal coming from maple springs to martin nelsons belsons Nel sons with the understanding that the road be left in just as good condition after finishing the line as lt it was before commencing com worl work wilford hailing oscar jeppson arid and ernest johnson all voted in favor of the motion none opposed C M jensen and oscar jeppson was appointed as a committee to meet with engineer C 0 at maple springs on march 19 to measure water in the upper maple spring minutes approved meeting adjourned A LARSEN clerk city manager reported that ath ward bishopric had requested that brigham city extend a 2 inch water service line to ath ward church on ath south to increase the 34 3 4 inch line already installed moved by dott bott that manager be directed to advise the bishopric of the said ath ward that due to the nature of the installation it would be necessary tor for the church to make the extension at is own expense credit to the amount ol of 2130 will be allowed by brigham city this being the cost ot of 34 3 4 inch water meter seconded by valentine and carried |
