Show HOME TALENT appreciated mary dmary janes pa well presented by local people at liberty last evening the story of 0 mary alary janes pa by edith ellis an american play ot of human interest was interestingly unraveled last night by a strong and well selected cast at the liberty theatre before a large and appreciative audience the play was presented by the stake mutual boards under the able direction of 0 johr john E dalard who in the leading roll impersonated mary alary janes pa mr air baird who has been one ot of brigham cites leading actors tor for many years and a great favorite before the footlights brought out all the fine points in his roll and in his tender discussions with little mary jane his daughter who was unaware that he was her father touched the hearts of the audience several times during the performance mary jane was impersonated by little miss ellen rich who carried her roll with marked ability and won the hearts of the audience by her tender love tor for her parents she gives bright prospects along dramatic lines portia perkins owner and editor of the clarion and by the dav mother of mary jane was impersonated by mrs airs ethel rees jensen she expressed all the judicious and tender feelings ot of a mother in the rearing of her two girls and in the management of her home she was equally successful as editor and manager ot of the clarion and might a bad thing thin tor for the local newspaper men to inject a little of ller hapep pep and and spirit into the business management of their papers miss lorean dredge as lucille daughter ot of mrs airs perkins was girlish and beautiful in her part and by her charming manner won the heart and hand ot of barett sheridan an actor ably impersonated by walter mann leland anderson as rome preston a lawyer was strong in his part and politically successful as a liw lawyer y era should be he displayed considerable polish as an actor w with ith good pos S bili ties joel skinner the towns banker and politician was impersonated with the polish and nerve of a real political boss by woodruff jensen miss carman dalard as ivy wilcox town gave the play a touch of merriment and brought out all the fine points in her roll miss mary peterson as miss aliss faxon town milliner ivas was a charming and stylish young lady with a mind of her own and did credit to her roll the minor parts or ol the drama were well carried by dr C A munns as starr skinner son of joel skinner harold Jens jensen efi as line watkins hack driver carlyle christensen as eugene merryfield a printer bill bill sackett as lewellyn green a printer albert jensen as jim jess keller as claud whitcomb and IT jensen as mr air whipple a lawyer music was furnished by a splendid orchestra under the direction of norm watkins between acts two splendid numbers were rendered by a girls chorus under the direction of 0 mrs connie AT peters composed of the misses mary duffin lrene irene and ilene bunot gay cay jeppson delone valentins valentine and mrs airs darrell welling the fact that over 11 people came out to the matinee yesterday afternoon and about last evening is evidence that the people of this community are anxious tor for more ot of this high class clasa entertain entertainment meni home talent hns always been appreciated in brigham city and in most cases is far superior to the average road show 0 i |
