Show no THE BOX ELDER NEWS, Brigham Cityi Utah Postmaster Tuesday, December 10, 1963 . First Asks Early i - n s i ! Yule Mailing 4 You better watch out,' you better not cry . . . with old St. Nick roaming the streets of our town, what mother in her riglit mind could help but use the season as a disciplinary aid? The old you better be good if you want Santa Claus to come to our house" will be of great effectiveness for the next three weeks. This is the time of gift lists and shopping. If you have youngsters on your list and are not sure what to buy, the first step is to decide whether you like the children or the parents best. If the children win the most popularity vote you could purchase a snare drum, a tool set with a real saw, a cooking set with authentic ingredients, a dart board with darts, cymbals, castanets or bongo drums. If the parents are good friends a stuffed animal or a pair of pajamas would be nice. With three weeks before Christmas, this is the time to do the house cleaning before the decorations go up; going on a diet In preparation for the feasting on holistrict day goodies; and the annual battle of the Christmas cards. Selecting the Christmas cards is a battle in itself when you try to decide between a cheery "Ho, Ho, Ho!!" and a solemn, dignified card. Shall we make this an old fashioned red and green Christmas or shall we go modern? If we have our names printed, I then feel impelled to scribble something personal on each card. After I finally find last year's list, I must sift out those I know have moved. I arrive at a figure of nine families I know they are in the 800 such as: with block." There are 47 cards without zip codes; the 47 families we hear from only at yuletide. There are 15 which I address "and family" because Ive lost track not only of names, but even the number of children they have now. We are also annually late with our cards. We can't get enthused about them until we Start receiving them. I am encouraged in this proscrastinating by a little lady who told me once that she always enjoyed the last card she received the most, even though it came after Christmas. That last card which comes in alone, not to be compared to a dozen elaborate ones that arrive the 'same day, may be the object of pity, but it does receive attention. iSo now, back to my address book, pen, stamps, Christmas seals and confusion. If you are in the same boat and want to improve your disposition try using a sponge Instead of your tongue. mini r - The facilities which a funeral n "W TO Cl di- rector provides must be complete 'lju mi he and if uo-to-d- KAYI hi your Christmas card and gift list very carefully be certain each address is complete with full name, street and number, city, state and zone or ZIP Code number.
