Also setting a new mark was the number of returning students, with this classification, accounting for 84 percent of the total enrollment. Even among the new students at the school are 130 boys and girls who forIntermountailn merly attended but who dropped out last year or the year before. Of the total enrollment, over a thousand are girls and more than thirteen hundred are boys, Dr. Boyce reported. Last busses to arrive at Inter mountain came in early Sunday morning carrying the final contingent of students from the Navajo reservation. Entertainment features Friday and Saturday night will be the annual Golden Spike rodeo at the fairgrounds arena which promises plenty of action. Performances will start at 8:00 p.m. Meanwhile concessions on the midway will open daily at 10:00 a.m. and continue until late at night. Payne, with the evenings of September 1 and 2 being reserved for this purpose. Seniors will register on Wednesday, September 1 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., followed by the juniors from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. Double registration setups will be established on Thursday evening September 2 when the remaining four classes will register. Tenth grade students will enroll from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., while ninth grader will register from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. All four of the higher classes will enter - the building by way of the main entrance. The accident occured when a r driven by Harry Mariano of Salt Lake City tried to pass a truck loaded with explosives. The car driven by Mrs. Spencer was forced off the road onto the shoulder by the passing semi trailer and as she attempted to bring the car back on the road, it went out of control and collided with the left front side of the explosives filled truck. Mrs. Spencer was thrown from the car receiving cuts and bruises about the head and was taken to the Valley Hospital in Tremonton where her condition was reported Tuesday night as improved. , The explosives loaded truck was brought to a stop by driver Lewis E. Wakefield of Layton before going off the road. Damage to the truck was estimated at $700. The driver was not in jured. The auto driven by Mrs. Spen cer, owned by her father LeRoy Savage of 177 North Fourth West, Brigham City was a total wreck, according to State Trooper Evan Gren who investigated the accident. Trooper Green stated that investigation will be continued. To Local Man Inch Moisture A cooling shower last Saturday morning furnished .11 of an inch of moisture and dropped temperatures to a low of 44 de grees early Sunday morning, Charles Clifford, official weather recorder announces. High temperatures this week have been in the comfortable eighties, Clifford noted, while last the moisture Saturday morning was the first received since August 3 when another shower supplied .10 of an inch. Traces were registered on August 5 and 19. Only .06 of an inch was received during the month of July. Alvin Slander Rites Will Be Held Wednesday Alvin Stander, 86, Bear River City, died about 11:30 a.nh. Sat- urday of a skull fracture received Friday afternoon when he stepped from the running board of a moving truck, and fell to the street. y Stander was - president for a number of years of the ' Bear River City town board. He was born February 29, 1868, at Brigham City, a son of .Henry, and Marla Hansen Stander. He was reared and educated in Brigham City, and lived for several years at Promontory, Utah, and ThomHe moved p Ber as, Idaho. River City in 1893, where he had ' since resided. j t He married Emma Christensen in 1893. She died October 21, 1934. Surviving are two sons and two daughters; Mrs. A. J.
