Show mm Plan Golden Wedding Observance Silver Thimble 4-Club Holds Meeting H OUR DEMOCRACY: Nine girls of the Silver Thimble club met last Thursday, June 10, at the home of club leader, Mrs. Kennard Anderson, 336 West Second South. At the 2 p. m. meeting, folders were distributed with a verse entitled "It's fun to sew." Another booklet given to the club members was called "My clothing record," and the paper, My activity record for the 1954 club year." Silver thimble club members made scarves at the meeting after which refreshments were served. Mr. Bergen was employed with the Southern Pacific Railroad Co., until 1949 when he was retired. The following sons and daughters will help their parents celebrate their 50th anniversary: Mrs. Charles (Zola) Starner of Haddonfield, N. J.; Mrs. Lewis (Florence) Glatt of San Francisco; Von Bergen and Lee Bergen of Torrancp, Calif. There are eight grandchildren. S. degree from the school of commerce at Utah State Agricultural college. Chingas has been making his home with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Forsberg in Smithfield. While attending college, he was active in music and dancing programs. His graduation exercises were attended by his mother, Mrs. Viola Chingas. A drawing for a door prize is to take place at the meeting which all members are encouraged to attend The purpose of the meeting is to plan future activities of the Legion, including the American Legion convention in Ogden, special programs and summer outings. The June 18 meeting will feature a program and Mother and Daughter Pay Visit to Alaska Mrs. Boedeker and Ruby daughter, Sherry, left for Ketch ikan, Alaska last Sunday, June 12 and were scheduled to arrive aboard the liner S. S. Alaska, on Friday June 11 from Seattle. They intend to spend the summer vacationing in Ketchikan where Mrs. Boedeker will gather material for her next book. She Is the duughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Mrs. Announcing the arrival of their first child, a daughter, to be named Colleen Marie, are Mr. and Mrs. Waynq Bosworth of Logan. The little seven pound eight ounce Miss arrived on Satur-urdaJune 12, at the Logan LDS hospital. She is the third granddaughter to arrive this year for Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Bosworth of this city. They now have seven grandchildren. Mrs. Bosworth is the former Marlene Marie Hamilton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hamilton of Flandreau, South Dakota. This is the first granddaughter for the Hamiltons. They have five other grandchildren, all boys. Mr. Bosworth has just completed his three years at the USAC in Logan and has been accepted at Northwestern University in Chicago. He completed the entire three years with a straight A card and according to Datus Hammond, advisor to students, is the first to his knowledge ever accomplishing such a record. Acceptance at Northwestern goes only to 125 of 1800 applications received. Mr. Bosworth will begin school in September. The answer would be easy as pie . . . M?
