At least that is how it seems, for it is 48 years ago since the first free peaches were handed out on the court house lawn ; the first parade was held and the first people from Salt Lake City, Provo, Logan and Idaho journeyed to the Peach City for its first annual celebration. That was a gay occasion in spite of the fact the balloon that was to make an ascension burned up, the local baseball team lost to Ogden and the wild horses at the rodeo wouldnt buck. Each Peach Days since then has shown an improvement oveP the one before. The traditional parade has earned the description of the most colorful in Utah and though the girls arent becoming more beautiful, the Junior Chamber of Commerces Peach Queen contest and coronation ball has grown to large and successful proportions. To the traditional hairbeen- "added new and delightful features,.: the window hobby display, the Fashion Frolic, usually a ball game and a host more. , Peaches of past celebrations, as on this page, look strange to us now, but it wasnt too long ago they were style. It wont be too many years when we look back at pictures of this Peach Days and enjoy the same chuckle. But whether its the Model T, Atomic or Hydrogen Bomb, there is one thing for sure.
