Post Office Department. Ephraim Johnson has spent many hours standing casing the mail before going out on his mail route. Marcus will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City September 22 and will sail October 7 for Germany. He graduated from Box Elder High school and Seminary after which he spent 18 months in the He attended Utah U. S. army. State Agricultural college from which he graduated in 1952 with a bachelor of science degree and in 1954 he received a master of science degree in bacteriology. He was also a graduate of the LDS institute where he served as a counselor in the Priesthood presidency. Marcus is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and holds a commission In the U. S. Air Force reserve. During the past year he has been employed as a virologist in the school of medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles. During his entire service he has enjoyed being a "part time farmer." serving with the Los Cruses, U. S. New Mexico He recalls many interesting things that have happened during his service. When asked how he and the dogs on the route made out, he smiled and related how the Joe Sorensons dog still meets him each day and follows him on the route. Sometimes the dog has chosen a flower garden to rest in and when asked if it were his dog he has just replied, No, he is just my friend. Next week during the carrier inspection the name of Johnson will be missing from the list. Last year during the inspection he handled 1,185 pieces of mail. Darrell Poulsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Poulsen, enjoyed the Labor Day week-enin Brigham City. Pvt. Poulsen is stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado with the U. S. Army. He is in artillery. He received his basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma prior to being transferred to Camp Car sen.
