Minutes of Dedication The newly built Memorial park located in the center of the city cemetery was dedicated at one p. m., November' 11 by Post No. 1695, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Commander William Lar sen called the meeting to order and welcomed members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, mem bers of the Veterans Lady Aux Star illary organization. Gold mothers and fellow citizens. The meeting was then turned over to the Department Senior Vice Commander J. C. Burt who con ducted the ceremonies. Comrade Burt read a brief his tory of the building of the Park from the time of its creation. The Park was originally located on the extreme south side of the cemetery. He stated the old location was so Isolated that prop er care could not be given it, thus resulting in its gradual de struction. Just a year ago the present location was chosen. Mayor J Wesley (Horsley, honorary member of the local VFW post, accepted the Park in be half of the City and paid high tribute to those who planned and carried out the building of it. He also commented on the splendid location and the beau tiful landscaping, making It one of the choice spots lor people to visit. Comrade Lewis Jones, honor ary member of the local VFW post, delivered an address com memorating the soldiers who gave their lives for their country and explained, the purpose of the monument.
