Club Members Return From National, Convention In Cal,; Club Honored There of An enthusiastic group Brigham City members of the Business and Professional Womens club have returned home from San Francisco, where they attended the organizations tional convention. na- democracy under three headings big labor, big business and big government; the issues for big labor being discussed by Mrs. Elinore Herrick of the Now York s editorial staff; the role ef big government by Professor Thomas Vernor Smith, Maxwell Professor of Citizenship and Philosophy at Syracuse University; and the subject of s big business by William S. of "Los Angeles, vice president of the United States Chamber of Commerce. Rosalind Russell, moving picture- star famous for her portrayals of business and professional women on the screen, was a special guest on a program featuring outstanding California women. Miss Russells talk was t broadcast on a program over the National Broadcasting company's network. The Federation presented Miss Russell with a scroll of appreciation for her outstanding work in thg movies. Margaret Hickey, a past honorary president of the national federation of Business and Professional Womens clubs, and now Public Affairs Editor of the Ladies Home Journal, directed attention of the group to the international scene at one of the sessions. At a special award session, Herald-Tribune- Highlights of the convention included the address of welcome a by Governor Earl Warren; discussion on the bigness of our Rose-cran- coast-to-coas- the Brigham City club had the distinction of being awarded a community service citation, based on the merits of the clubs series Bride-Ele- v f, p i of public service programs during the past club year.
