Days The annual event by the group aids local sportsmen prepare for the upcoming deer hunt. Federation president Wayne A. Jensen said the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. Cost is $1 per rifle. Bore sighting will be available for those mounting scopes at 50 cents a scope. The event, of course, will be held at the federation range in Mantua. Jensen reminded sportsmen that the federation has new shooting benches which will facilitate sighting in. Scott Smith threw a TD pass to Brent Hollingsworth to gain the lead. In the second half Brent threw a pass to Steve Gilbert for another TD. The PAT was good with the same conbination. At 7:30 p.m. Petersens Funeral Home could only tie Petersens Drewes Floral, played with one man short until when a squabble and the two rowdies involved were ejected from the game. The final game turned into another squabble when two 0-- fist-i-cuf- players were ejected from the game. When the players refused to leave, the game was ruled a forfeit. One player hit a referee. Mountain Sales was alrady in the game 18 to 0, with four plays to go. The players ejected were from Everton Mattress Companys team. Scoring for Mountain Sales (Velasquez) were: Ron Thompson who ran 23 yards for six points in the first half. In the second half Lane Velasquez completed a 35 yard pass for six more. Then Velasquez threw a 12 yarder to Larry Velasquez for the final TD, making the score 18-- Deer outlook is meeting topic by wildlife officials A public information meeting dealing with Utah mule deer hunting and management will be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Tremonton. Local conservation officer John Fricke said the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is sponsoring the event. It starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Tremonton civic center, 102 South Tremonton street. Fricke said the meeting will discuss this years deer hunt and hunters are encouraged to bring along any questions they might have. The public is invited. Fricke said a similar meet Boys Prep league will organize after the high school teams are chosen, but the age for the league is set for boys 15 to 18 years, or still in high school. When womens volleyball is completed, the womens basketball league will begin; sometime during the last week of January. The two senior divisons of basketball will be fastbreak and k slowbreak. Stipulation for will be that a player must be over 29 years of age or Fast-brea- k physically handi-cappewill be open to all boyss men ages 18 (if out of school) and above. slow-brea- City Recreation wants those people interested in partici- pating in the upcoming basketball season to start putting together teams and to chose representative to be present at the Oct. 19, meeting (Fastbreak and slowbreak only). Meeting for womens and boys basketball will be announced as time approaches. Youth basketball for boys and girls will be announced later along with the National Guard Bantam league program for boys 11 to 14. In the opinion of many, October is perhaps the finest month for angling in the state with competition for choice spots at a minimum. With the beginning of the cool weather, the large brown trout will be leaving their normal habitats to travel the tributaries to their spawning grounds. Good fishing can be found in most of the streams that head in the high country of the Wasatch Front with the Logan river being an excellent choice for fishing the big browns. Other rivers providing better than even odds are the Weber, Provo and the south fork of the Ogden.
