Vocation CIgssgs Con Use Students Additional enrollment is being encouraged in several vocational classes underway as well as those classes slated to begin soon in Box Elder County School district, according to vocational Sam Gordon, education director. A class dealing with the repair of small appliances and refrigeration will start Thursday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. at Bear River High school on the first floor of the old main building. Although the class will be limited to 12, those in the Brigham City area are also invited to enroll. With DeVerle Payne as the instructor, the class is anticipated to run for 60 hours for a fee of $5. To begin Monday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Nursing home is a nurses aide training class with Kathy Humphreys as instructor. The class, also limited to 12 enrollees, will go 90 hours, with 60 hours devoted to clinical training and 30 hours formal class work. Gordon said high school credit may be granted if desired on completion of the program. Those interested in welding and farm machinery repair in the Bear River area may contact Neil Christensen for information as to starting time and other pertinent in- formation. Contest Invites Theatre Buffs Hear Lecture Brigham City theatre buffs were treated to a most as well as enjoyable lecture on community theatre by Mrs. Phyllis Mattingly of Fort Collins, Colo., recently. Mrs. Mattingly, who is president of the Mary Green Community Theatre in Fort Collins, gave a history of that organization since its inception in 1968. She went into great detail as to what it took to create an organization which has in the last several years put on shows such as Unsinkable Molly Sound of Music, and Brown, South Pacific. These productions were done with local talent and were tremendous successes from the theatrical standpoint, she said. In addition, Mrs. Mattingly stated that with the help of local merchants, clubs, banks, etc. in Fort Collins, they were box office successes. She displayed advertising programs in which the theatre personnel were able to involve many of the Fort Collins residents and thus create community interest.
