The varsity team came back from a fourth place early season finish in the Orem invitational, and a second place finish in the Intermountain AAU on Oct. 24 to defeat all AA Teams in the state. In the seven years that Intermountain has participated in cross country, the varsity has lost only three dual meets and has won over 100. The losses came from Sky View, 1969; Skyline, 1967, and Ben Lomond, 1966. They have taken the state title five out of seven years. In 1968, they finished third and In 1967, they finished second.
