Show Speaker Challenges Scouts At Annual Council Dinner President Sets USU Talk for BE Lions Men The president of Utah State university will address a meeting of all the Lions clubs of Box Elder county, Wednesday, March 3 at the Brigham City Community center. Dr. Glen L. Taggart is slated as guest speaker for the meeting which will start at 7:30 p.m. The zone party is a ladies night and is one of the highlights of the entire year, a spokesman said. The Willard Lions club is hosting the affair which includes a banquet. Earl Gray, zone chairman, will act as master of ceremonies for the party. About 200 persons are expected to attend the banquet and other guests include: Joseph Timmins, Lion district governor; Ray T. Facer, cabinet secretary, and Wheatly J. Taylor, deputy district governor. Eleventh President Dr. Taggart, the eleventh USU president, has had a distinguished career in education, government service and foreign relations. He is a Cache Valley native, having been born in Lewiston, Jan. 16, 1914. He was a 1940 graduate of USU with a BS in sociology and later received a doctor of philosophy University of in sociology from Wisconsin in 1946.
