Lindsay of Salt Lake City, who was observing her 91st birthday anniversary. Games were played and refreshments served. Lyn was the recipient of many lovely and useful gifts. The Pinochle club met with Mrs. Nephi Westergard Wednesday evening. Mrs. Clarence Bowcutt was a special guest. Prizes went to Mrs. Don Homer, Mrs Gilbert Allred and Mrs. Leo Godfrey. Mrs. Louise Harper attended a wedding reception in the Ogden 4th Ward Cultural hall, Friday, for Mr. and Mrs. Craig Coombs. She was an overnight guest of her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Gardner and family. She also visited her brother Mr. and Mrs. and sister-in-laGeorge Coombs. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Marriott Saturday, were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Taylor and two sons of Brigham City. Enjoying a family party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rogers Friday evening, were Mr. and Mrs. DelRay Stark and six children of Shelley, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trenkle and two children of Hailey, Idaho, Mrs. Marilyn Harris and daughter Christine, Mrs. Craig Harris and baby of Shoshone, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Price and daughter Sherry and son Boyd of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Rogers of Brigham City. A delicious turkey dinner with all the trimming was enjoyed. Ronald Davis accompanied his son Terry to the Salt Lake airport Monday where he left for Travis AFB in California where he is serving with the Navy. He has been spending the past month on leave visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Davis and family. Chapter 5 of the Utah Association for the Blind held their 34th Birthday party at the Community center in Brigham City Saturday evening. President Esther Clough of Garland conducted the meeting. A program was presented by Faye Gleason and her group from Logan: A delicious dinner was served to approximately 85 persons. Overnight guests of Mrs. Esther Clough, Saturday, were Mr. and Mrs. Oren Purrell of Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dendall, Mrs. Andy Larson of Provo, and Mrs. Parry Nowling of Hennifer. They enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Clough home Sunday. Mrs. Glade Timothy was an overnight guest at the home of and daughter, her Mr. and Mrs. Max Flinders in Ogden, Monday. Monday evening she and her daughter were cohostesses at a shower for pink and blue Mrs. Terri Felts. During the evening the guests tied a baby quilt for Terri. Delicious refreshments were served to approximately twelve guests. Mr. and Mrs. Max Flinders visited at the Glade Timothy home Saturday. Sunday guests were Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Timothy and son Basil Nish. son-in-la- Naomi Oyler has been released from the LDS hospital in Logan and is now receiving care at the Pioneer Nursing home in Brigham City. Marcell Johnson has returned home after spending the past few weeks with his and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Hansen and family, Ogden, after undergoing surgery at the McKay hospital. Miss Florence Richards of Kaysville spent the weekend visiting her mother Mrs. Mildred Richards. Mrs. LaMont Richards is receiving medical care at the McKay hospital in Ogden following surgery. Eric and Lezlie Gephart of Afton, Wyo., spent the weekend visiting their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Gephart, while their parents, Mr. and Mrs. were Clyde Gephart, vacationing in Las Vegas. Bridge Club The Garland Bridge club met at the home of Mrs. Inez Brown Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Hattie Hodge as hostess. A delicious hot luncheon was enjoyed. Prizes for bridge went to Mrs. Florence Garn and Mrs. Edith Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Eph Peterson returned home Thursday after a vacation delightful in California. They visited Mrs. Petersons Mr. brother and sister-in-laand Mrs. Elick Sorenson in Inglewood, afterwhich they visited their son and daughter-in-law- , Captain and Mrs. Durrell Grover and family in Fallbrook. They visited many points of interest, including the County Animal park and Sea World in San Diego. Attending funeral services for Clifton Grover, former resident of East Garland, held in the North Box Elder Stake center in Brigham City, Saturday, were Bishop and Mrs. Kenneth Shaffer, Mrs. Eph Peterson, Mr, and Mrs. Martin Riser, and Mr. and Mrs. Orval Grover. Burial took place in the East Garland cemetery. Tremonton-GarlanThe Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Mabel Anderson in Bothwell, Wednesday evening. Mrs. Ruth Shumway gave an interesting review of Anne Morrow Lindbergh's "Diaries and Letters entitled Hour of Larry of Pocatello. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Andy Funk Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Coombs of Logan. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Steed spent Friday in Stone, Idaho, visiting Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Steed and family and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carter and family. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Steed and family in Snowville. Mrs. Hazel Rose, Mrs. Deane Hammond accompanied by Mrs. Meda Hupp of Tremonton attended funeral services held in the Wellsville Ward chapel Monday for a friend, Mrs. Annie Leishman. Afterward a dinner party was held in their honor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson in East Garland. Perry. Mrs. DeVere Hess, Mrs. Richard Hess and daughter, Tiffany Ann, vsited Miss Clara Archibald in Logan, Thursday.
