In line with the Better Schools Committees policy of gathering facts on the current school issues Boyd Sheffield presented a detailed account of the Chamber of Commerce proposal to the school board that the new school to be built, should be a senior high school instead of a junior high school. In the Chamber of Commerce booklet presented to the school board, it was pointed out that a new senior high school would provide Box Elder High senior students planning to further their education with adequate science facilities, homemaking facilities and other advantages so necessary for college entrance requirements. Also, the school board would be able to convert unused space at the present high school building into offices for themselves and adequate storage for school supplies thus eliminating existing office rent and inadequate storage.
