The chorus was organized under the direction of Norm Watas the Fourth kins originally ward Ladies chorus. Mr. Wait-kin- s then moved from the Fourth to the Third Ward and at that time singers from the Third ward were also allowed to become members. It was then that the name Orpheus was conceived. Since then its members have included outstanding singers throughout the county.
