He was born February 15, 1881, in St. George, the son of Joseph B. and Mary Virginia Ashby Macdonald. He resided in Mesa, Arizona, for 10 ears, half of which time he served as clerk of Maricopa stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints. Macdonald later resided in Brigham City, where he was instrumental in the organizing of the Fidelity Building and Loan Co. He was cashier in the First National bank of Brigham City. He married Camilla Lee Sept. 28, 1904, in the Salt Lake City temple of the L.D.S. church. Besides his widow, he is survived by three sons and a daughter, Joseph M R. L. and Scott L. Macdonald and Mrs. Nada Dautrich, Salt Lake City; B. E. three sisters, Mrs. Vera Kern, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Grace Richards, Pocatello, Ida., and Mrs. Boss Williams, San Francisco; also 10 grandchildren.
