Congressman H. A. Dixon has been advised by Postmaster General Arthur E. Summerfield that a contract has been signed for" construction and lease to the Office Department of a new post office building in Blanding. The successful bidders are the Nelson Brothers Construction of Lake City. Salt Company and Ground breaking construction of the new post office is expected to begin in the near future with due approximately completion Dec. 7, 1960. The lease will be for a 10 year period with two renewal options. This modern post office will be located at approximately 80 N. Main. It will provide 2,940 square feet of interior space, an outside loading platform, and ample hardsurfaced space for parking and truck maneuvering.
