Show THE BINGHAM NEWS , ftf . : THE BINGHAM NEWS Entered as second-clas- s mat--, ter at the Postoffice at Bing--'. ham Canyon, Utah, under the Act of .Congress of March ' 3, 1879. .Price $2.00 per year, in advance Single Copies, 10 Cents A Weekly Newspaper devoted exclusively to the interests of the Bingham District and its people. Published every Saturday at Bingham Canyon, Utah George Reynolds Editor and Publisher Bourgard Building, Main St. Bingham Phone 91 NEWSPAPER ASSOCIATION MEMBER No. 1855 They must have company of one sort or another, so they just pill-- people. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd be willing to give craiit for their lift. Every age has its pilferers of power who exist by tolerance and feel they are doing society a favor by ex-isting. The flood-tid- e of pros-perity carries many a jelly-fis- h. Their main function is attjirh. ing to anything that supplies life. And what a world of hu-man parallels we have hookers on who live by the success of others. There are people who filch and lie to hold their pres-tige but in time they will be de-spised and receive their reward. Men with brawn in them do jnot stoop to "hooker-on- " meth-ods.' Petty brilliance that flash-es and dies lacks breadth and strength. It lives from pittances handed out by some member of a lodge or other organization who happened to be lucky enough to have been affiliated. Any fraternal oryaniziution should resent taking the appli-cation of a hooker-o- n. Good lodge members plan and act for the common good while others try to imitate them. EDITORIAL A HOOKER-O- N Do you know the meaning of the auove word. Maybe not as it really is our own coining but there have been times when you have seen grown men who when riding a bicycle have hooked-o- n to a passing au-to to be towed for a few miles, ' ; perhaps. We find these class of people right here in our little mining camp. We might call them the " 1 j town pill. You have seen the old dog run o greet his master-Wel- l he hasn't anything on this pill man. That pestiferous citizen just 'nooks-on- " at every chance only another pill or an uppercut can detach him- - You see he just hook3 on, nobody is hankering after his company or languish-ing for his presence and it is his nature to want to smear.it in.
