Requiem high mass for Angelo Scussel, 54, former Bingham re-sident who died March 4 in Las Vegas of a heart ailment, was celebrated Friday, March 1 1 in St. Theresa's Catholic church, Midvale. Burial was in Mt. Cal-vary cemetery- - Mr. Scussel for-merly had worked in the Bing-ham and Alta mine3 and was a member of the Bingham Amer-ican Legion Post No. 30. An unusual autograph paity was enjoyed by members of No. 2 Firemen's auxiliary Monday night. A St. Patrick's theme was used in table appointments and clever favors were shamrocks, pipes and hats. After autograph-ing a book, contract bridge was played. Prizes were won by Mrs. Virgil Hutchings, first; Mrs. Veil Peterson, second; Mrs. Gene Goff, consolation, and Mrs. F.van Mill-er, cut. A delicious luncheon was served to 21 members and twoj guests. Hostesses were Mrs. Hugo Bianchi and Mrs. Grant Milner. Steve Smilanich, 21, son of Mrs. George Smilanich, Highland; Boy, was awarded his U letter! sweater in wrestling March lOtn by the University of Utah ath-letic board. Steve wrestles in the 121 pound division and had a good record through tne Skyline Six conference race, according to Karl Schleckman, wrestling coach. He is a graduate ot Bingham high school where he was a mem-ber of the Social Club, active in student government and was on the staffs of several student pub-lications. Congdon, aviation elec-- ' trnnics technician, third class, USN, Bingham Canyon, is serv-in- g with the Fleet All Weather Training Unit, Pacific, a carrier-typ- e squadron, based at the Na-val Air Station, Barber's Point, T. H., which trains naval airmen for flying, night and day, in nil types of weather. Congdon, who entered the naval service Aug 2, 1948, received his recruit train-ing at the Naval Training Center, San Diego, Calif. Before entering the navy, he attended Bingham high school. ' Dickie Rauer celebrated his seventh birthday with a lovely party at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Rauer, Tues-day afternoon March 14. Civil 'Service region for the following positions: Chief, utilities section (for filling the position of fore-jma- n, maintenance and repair), $1.49 to $1.83 an hour; and wood and metal equip-ment (for filling the position of furniture repairman-maintenanc- e mechanic), $1.40 to $1.71 an hour. Vacancies in these positions exist in the Department of the Army, Fort Douglas, Utah. There is no written test in con-nection with this examination and applicants will be rated on the basis of a review of their ex-perience and training, as shown in their application form.
