Jl Young Couple Honored With Dinner. Mr. Leon Mitchell and Miss Fern Van Tromp were entertained Thurs-day evening (June 25) at a largs dinner given for 50 guests by Mr. Joe Spencer, an uncle of Mr. Mitch-ell at his home In Bluffdale. Bingham Couple Married Sunday. The marriage of MLss Fern Char-len- e Van Tromp, daughter of Mrs. Lucille Van Tromp, and Leon L. Mitchell, son of Mr, and Mrs. Charl-es Mitchell, was1 solemnized in Salt Lake City Tuesday. After the ceremony the young couple left for a two week honeymoon at the Grandaddy lakes. They will make their home in West Jordan, where the groom is employed by the Ho-ga-n dairy company. Miss Van Tromp entertained with a wedding breakfast Sunday morn-ing at Sturm's cafe. Places were . arranged for the following relatives and friends: Mrs. Charles Mitchell, Miss Velva Van Tromp, Mrs. Ein-- . ner Sutherland, Mrs. Lucille Van Tromp, Mrs- - Don Sorenson, Mrs. John Dahlstrom, Miss Ruth Sheen, Miss Melba Sheen, Miss Rosella Miller, Mrs. Don Carpenter, Mrs. Don Stuart, Miss Mildred Shaw, and the hostess. Friday of last week Miss Rosella Miller entertained at a shower at her home in Salt Lake City. Six-teen close friends of the bride were present. The evening was spent In playing games. Ted Robison and Verne Faddis were committee in charge of ar-rangements made by Bingham Vol-unteer Firemen No. 2 for the swim-ming and picnic party enjoyed by the Firemen and the auxiliary at Black Rock Monday evening. Time was spent in swimming and eating the picnic lunches that were brought individually. Later in the evening the group danced at the small patillon. jl Fire Auxiliary No. 1 Entertain Husbands. Ladles of the Fire auxiliary No. 1 and their husbands enjoyed an outing at Dry Fork Monday even-ing. Mr. Connie Harris, Mrs. Dor-mi- s Larson, Mrs. Ed Newman were in charge of arrangements. The group played ball and were entertained by an amateur hour around the bonfire, A delicious picnic luncheon was. arranged by the committee in charge of arrange-ments. j- l- Convention Delegate. Miss Lenore Richards left Friday for ten days in Colorado Springs, where she will attend the national convention of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. James was an Ogden visitor Monday, attending a meeting of postmasters, who were making plans 'or the state postmasters' con-vention to. be held in Salt Lake July 23. They expect to have a fine meeting, well attended. Mayor and Mrs. John Dahlstrom left this week for a vacation at Fish Lake. Doty Bush received a letter writ-ten by the Leyden Lignite Coal com-pany concerning two or three pitchess who would be good enough to pitch in the Denver Post tourna-ment. This would be an opportunity for some of the better Industrial Lea-gue pitchers. Mr. aikd Mrs. John Creedon were Tuesday visitors in Ogden. Fire-chi- ef Creedon was attending to business matters relative to the State Firemen's meeting to be in Ogden, August 6-- 8c 8. John Bogan's entry into the Est' mo Pie softball league had their" pictures taken with their spouor wearing the nifty black hats that are the teams insignia. Fifteen mem-- bers of the team lined up Wedn ' day to get the mounted photos giv en them by their backer, John Bo gan. Fred Haun, former Bingham resident, underwent a major opera-tion at the Bingham hospital Tues-day. Mr. and Mrs, Dorius Adams and fanJy are leaving Friday to spend the Fourth of July in Parowan. Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Brisk left Tuesday morning for a holiday in Yellowstone national park. They will return Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Espinosa. and Leo Jr. and Junior Perry of Stand-ardvill- Utah visited in Bingham Canyon with Mr, and Mrs. Ernest Plaz from Saturday until Tuesday. Mrs. Glen Tout of Smithfield spent last week-en- d here as a guest of Miss Virginia Harris. A marriage license was granted this week to Edwin Charles Hart, 20, of Bingham, rand Dona Alma Jensen, 19, Sandy. John Clarence Tucker, 29, of Bingham and Laura Louise W. Ky-le- 28, of Midvale applied for a marriage license this week. Rex Clifford Marsh, 21, and Ger-trude Lloyd, .21,. both of Bingham received a license to wed this week in Provo.
