Show DEATH AT MINE FRIDAY SHOWN A HEART ATTACK Alton (M.ke) AnXus, 48, 2809 S. 300 East, who died Friday, Sept. 22 about 10 a.m. while mounting a drill rig at the Bingham open pit mine, died of a heart attack, an autopsy performed last Saturday showed. Mr. Angus, who was an employe of Western Contracting Corp., was pronounced dead at the scene by a Kennecott Copper Corp. doctor. An employe of Western, Mr. Angus An-gus was working with a crew stripping strip-ping waste materials on the rim of the open pit mine. Tom Speit, project manager, said Mr. Angus was a mechanic on an electric powered drill rig which bores multiple holes for blasting charges. Mr. Angus was born Sept. 18, 1913, in Upalco, Duchesne County, a son of Delbert and Revella Knight Angus. He was educated in Bingham Canyon schools and had been a heavy duty mechanic all his adult life. He had been employed by Western for about four years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He married Vonda Stocks in July 1933, in Heber. They had two children. They were divorced in 1948, and in 1951 Mr. Angus married mar-ried M.ldred K. Wilding in Salt Lake City. Survivors include his wife, his mother, of Draper, two sons and one daughter, Alton Roy, Salt Lake City; James Delbert and Mrs. Leonard Leon-ard (Barbara Kay) McMullen, both of Portland, Ore.; three stepchildren, stepchild-ren, Sgt. James Wilding, U. S. Marine Ma-rine Corps at Camp Lejeune, N. C. ; Linda and Drew Wilding, Salt Lake City; two brothers and three sisters, sis-ters, Arthur Angus, Mineola, N.Y.J Jack Angus, Union; Mrs. Rodney (Ruth) Mahon, Draper; Mrs. James (Mary) Forman and Mrs. LaVell (Beth) Jensen, Salt Lake City; also four grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday Tues-day at I p.m. at 8090 South State Street, Midvale. Burial was in Mem-I Mem-I orial Cardcns of the Valley, |
