Show BRYAN BIRD'S" FATHERSUCCUMBS Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed December 28 in the Spring-ville Spring-ville First LDS ward chapel for William Arthur Bird, 67, who died at 1 a.m. December 25 at the family residence, 696 South Fourth East street after an illness ill-ness of several months. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. Mr. Bird was born in Spring-ville Spring-ville on October 13. 1876, a son of Walter and Arabella Hailey Bird, early Springville pioneers. He spent his entire life in Springville. Spring-ville. Bryan Bird, proprietor of Standard garage and owner of West Mountain Beer and Ice company, is a son. For more than 30 years the deceased served' on the Old Folks committee. He was also a member of the Springville-Map-leton Black Hawk Indian War Veterans and Pioneers committee commit-tee for a number of years. Except for a short time during dur-ing which he was employed in railroad construction, Mr. Bird was a farmer. In recent years he engaged in the poultry business. For six years he was city road supervisor. He was a high priest in the Kolob stake. He married May Bryan in Springville October 13, 1897, and later they received their endowments endow-ments in Manti temple. Surviving besides his widow are six sons and three daughters, daugh-ters, Bryan Bird, MidvaleuArvn, Lloyd, Lewis, Russen, Dean and Clara Bird and Mrs. Manilla Brown, Springville; also 22 grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Will Loader of Pleasant Grove. |
