Funeral services will be held ar tomorrow at 1 p. m. in the Bing-ocham Bing-ocham mortuary chapel for Atha ((Thomas Williams, 72, who died itj Wednesday at 9:45 p. m. in St. it. Mark's hospital, Salt Lake City, on Mr. Williams had been in poor health for the last three years " and had been receiving treatment at the hospital for the past three ;a. months. A: Mr. Williams was one of the xnfew present Bingham Canyon Presidents who have watched Bingham Canyon's growth from a;, that of a small settlement in 1895 l-tO the present city of over 3000 population. K J He was appointed the first i town marshal at the incorporation incorpora-tion of Bingham town in 1904 ,'and had been a peace officer at 5i various times since, being named ja.' county deputy sheriff at the I time of the sensational Lopez i case in 1913. During the years he was an officer of the law he proved prov-ed himself to be fearless in performing per-forming duties, and his friends tell of many instances when he displayed remarkable courage. I I At one time he was a partner li ol the late Hurry S. Brownlee in P the Citizen's Coal and Supply ! company and was later employed employ-ed 17 years as a watchman for ! the Utah Copper company. K J He was a member of the Republican Re-publican party and active in the city and county organizations. ",He served as city justice of peace tfor four years. H He was a charter member of fthe Bingham volunteer firemen No. 1. II He was born June 28, 1867, in Franklin, Ky., a son of Dr. William Wil-liam Henry and Betty Johnston Williams. He married Miss Sel- itna Wallin in Salt Lake City April 9, 1896. Survivors besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs; H. C. Jenkins fof this city; two sons, Atha E. IWilliams of Sandy and Harold W. Williams of Salt Lake Cify, and five grandchildren. I I The Reverend Meredith Smith fof the M. E.
