Show !$AM SALTAS DIES I FOLLOWING AUTO CRASH THURSDAY Sprero Geoige Saltas, 28, of Copperfield was fatally injured Thursday afternoon in an automobile auto-mobile crash which ocurred at K street and Third avenue, Salt Lake City. Saltas was a passenger in a coupe driven northward by Gerald Ger-ald A. Franz of Murray which was struck broadside by a west bound delivery truck owned by D. A. Affleck Grocey, driven by Kenneth Butte. Mr. Butte is charged with involutary manslaughter. man-slaughter. Mr. Saltas succumbed immediately immed-iately after the accident. He suffered suf-fered a fractured left leg, internal inter-nal injuries and a crushed head. Others involved in the crash and their injuries included: M'r. Franz, cuts and bruises to right leg and back; Mr. Butte, lacerations lacer-ations to soalp and knee; Norma Chamberlain, Salt Lake, fractured fractur-ed hand, abrasions and bruises, and Vera Cook, Salt Lake, lacerations lacer-ations of face, neck and right leg. The women were passengers in the delivery truck. Mr. Saltas was born December 21, 1907, at Megara, Greece, a son of George and Eva Saltas. He came to United States when seven years old, after living a time in Moreland, Idaho, the family fam-ily moved to Copperfield. He was a student in the local schools and an employe of the Utah Copper company since 1925. His mother died in 1934. Surviving Sur-viving him are his father, his bi others Paul, Peter, Thomas and Alex Saltas and his sisters, Mrs. Sam Kastonis, Mary and Ve-gelia Ve-gelia Saltas, all of Copperfield. |
