Bonneville, a long time power in prep track and field, will again be a favorite to capture the team title. But the critics cant count out the Clearfield Falcons, who went through the duel meet season undefeated and in an impressive way. These schools might be considered for a two-tearace for the championship, but John Flint doesnt quite agree. Anything can happen when it comes time for a region championship. Any one of the six schools in our region could be considered a strong candidate for the team title, he said. There will certainly be a number of exciting matchups on an individual basis. Take for instance the Tim Gooch-Marvi- n Ellis standoff in the 100 meters race. These two speedsters are the class of the region short distance sprinters. Another could be the battle in the shot-pu- t and discus where Clearfields Mark Carter and Bonnevilles Lanny Nelson will compete head on. Still another will be the confrontation between Roys Art Hansen and Bonnevilles Craig Galloway. These long distance runners have ran nick and tuck throughout most of the season.
