Show Theres an old saying in Region One that insists that anyone travelling to Smithfield for a football game against the Bob Cats must give up a touchdown the moment he crosses the mountain pass leading to Sky View. The superstition became a reality to Bonneville, for in the last twelve seconds of the game the Bob Cats scored one more touchdown, and won by six points. The final score was 7 for Sky View. The Lakers appeared to have won the game in the first half. They scored ten points in the first quarter, and got another T.D. in the second quarter to take a comfortable 17-- lead to the locker room. Bonneville eased off, and then the Bob Cats went to work. They took the opening kickoff down for a touchdown, and scored again in the third quarter to close to In the fourth quarter, the Bob Cats drove again, and booted a 27 In a classic battle for the cellar position of Region One football, Clearfield blasted Roy 17-- 7 and did it in a span of six minutes and fifteen seconds. The game was a stand-of-f in the first quarter, but both teams moved the ball well. Roy stopped the Falcons on the forty, and took possession on a punt to the 18. The Royals showed class in moving the ball to the Clearfield five yard line, where consecutive penalties moved them back to the 24, and thats where they committed their first of three costly fumbles. Hicks again split the uprights, and Clearfield was on the board, 23-1- They were penalized after reaching the eleven yard line back to the 26 yard line. But on 'the next play from scrimmage Greg Boarden got behind the Royal defenders and caught a Brook Hicks pass for a touchdown. Hicks booted for the P.A.T., and the Falcons led with 6 : 15 left until halftime. The Falcons held the Royal on the next series and took over the ball on their own 37 yard line. They moved the ball to the Roy 19, but were tagged with another penalty, back to the 24. On third and long yardage, Hicks faded back to pass but had to unload to Tim Gooch, his safety valve. Gooch took the ball behind the line of scrimmage and scrambled 7-- 0 0 17-1- 4. 14-- The clock showed 1:31 to be played until intermission, but Clearfield recovered a fumble on Roys 37, and in two plays, moved to the 17 and Hicks kicked a field goal, as the halftime gun sounded.
